Khaleda urged to shun terrorism, militancy

Awami League Advisory Council member Suranjit Sengupta urged BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia to shun politics of terrorism and militancy for the sake of countrymen.
“Begum Zia tried to introduce a perverted face of politics but she failed, so she should discard terrorism, militancy and Jamaat to return to the path of democracy,” he said.
Suranjit Sengupta, a senior parliamentarian of the ruling Awami League said this on Tuesday while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on current politics at the Institute of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) auditorium in city’s Kakrail.
Bangabandhu Academy (BA) organised the discussion with its adviser Dr Khondokar Emdadul Huq Selim in the chair.
AL leader Mozaffar Hossain Paltu, Samyabadi Dal central leader Haroon Chowdhury and BA Secretary General Humayun Kabir Miji also spoke.
The senior Awami League leader said, “Bangladesh has achieved its independence under the leadership of Bangabandhu and the country is safe under the guidance of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”
He said none should make any comment on the rights of participating in election as it is the subject of the constitution, Election Commission and court.
“Achievement of a country depends on implementing its annual budgetry plan and the government is successful to implement its previous budgets, so there is nothing to worry about of this year,” he added.
