Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary of Awami League Dr Hasan Mahmud said people of the country would banish BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia forever if she doesn’t recourse to secular democratic politics shunning the politics of terrorism and militancy.”Shun your politics of terrorism and choose new style of politics. Seek apology to the people for your mistakes in the past to win their hearts shunning the politics of terrorism and militancy,” he said adding that if she doesn’t recourse to new trend in politics, people will send her to exile forever, not for two years.
Dr Hasan Mahmud said this on Saturday while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on “Responsibilities of the new generation to prevent drugs, terrorism and militancy” organised by Dhaka City North unit Awami Muktijoddha Projanma League at the auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity in the city.
President of the organisation Faruque Hossain Tipu chaired the discussion, also addressed, among others, by former state minister for home affairs Advocate Shamsul Huq Tuku, Dhaka City Awami League vice-president Faezuddin Miah, Krishak League leaders Abdul Hye Kanu and MA Karim and Awami Muktijoddha Projanma League president Advocate Asaduzzaman Durjoy.
Turning to BNP’s appeal to the government to beef up its chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s security, Dr Hasan Mahmud said, “In the real sense of the term, people of the country are in anxiety now after her return from abroad as she killed innocent people during her so-called hartal and siege programme for over three months from January 5.”
