Khaleda to appear court in 11 cases on March 14

The Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka on Monday directed BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia to appear to the court on March 14 in 11 cases filed in connection with arson attack, sabotage and sedition.
Khaleda Zia’s lawyers sought time in her absence in the cases, while Judge Md Kamrul Hossain Molla fixed the new date for her appearance after hearing.
The court cautioned the former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia that she is being granted “one last
time”. Earlier, she was allowed time a number of times.
Prosecutor Taposh Kumar Pal told the newsmen, Khaleda’s lawyers appealed for a new date, saying that she was ill and had a meeting with foreign delegates.
Allowing time on Monday, the court said Begum Khaleda Zia must appear to the court on March 14, the next date of case.
Earlier, Monday (February 27), was fixed to take into cognizance the charge sheets of 11 cases, lodged against Khaleda Zia and others, the Public Prosecutor said.
