Khaleda to address rally in Joypurhat today

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia left Dhaka for Bogra on Saturday afternoon to visit the northern district- Joypurhat. She will address a public meeting in Joypurhat today (Sunday) afternoon to protest against recent incidents of abduction, forced disappearance and killings.
Khaleda Zia’s special aide Shimul Biswas said that the BNP Chief was scheduled to spend the night in Bogra Circuit House. She will leave the district town for Joypurhat at noon.
Joypurhat district unit BNP will arrange the public meeting at RB High School ground, which will begin at 3:00 pm.
Khaleda Zia will also address the rally to mobilise public support in favour of her demand for holding a fresh national election.
Leaders and workers of the BNP of Joypurhat district and adjoining districts are expected to join the public meeting. Some of them have already reached the district headquarters.
Earlier, Khaleda Zia visited Joypurhat on March 24 last year to console family members of those who were killed in police firing at that time.
