UNB, Dhaka :
Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal, the workers’ front of BNP, will stage a workers’ rally in the city’s historic Suhrawardy Udyan on May 1, marking the May Day.
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is scheduled to address the rally as the chief guest, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told a press briefing after a joint meeting of the party and its associate bodies at its
Nayapaltan central office.
The BNP leader said Sramik Dal sought permission from both Public Works Department and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on March 27 for arranging the rally.
Rizvi said though the Public Works Department has said they have no objection if the DMP permits to hold the programme, the police authorities have not yet responded to it.
He said, they will take all-out measures to arrange the programme once the police give them permission.
