A Tk one crore defamation was filed against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Tuesday for her ‘derogatory’ comment about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy.
Shariful Alam Chowdhury, assistant secretary of Chhatra League of Muradnagar upazila
unit, filed the case against the BNP chief. Senior Judicial Magistrate of Comilla Fahad Bin Amin Chowdhury took cognisance of the case and directed the district information officer to submit a probe report within June 2.
According to the case statement, at a rally in the city’s Suhrawardi Udyan on May 1, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia said according to a file of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), a US investigation body, 300 million USD has been in a bank account of Sajeeb Wazed Joy, also the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Adviser to the PM.
