Khaleda shocked at loss of lives in boiler blast

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday expressed deep shock at the loss of lives in a boiler explosion at a packaging factory in Gazipur’s Tongi BSCIC industrial area.
In a condolence message, Khaleda, now in Saudi Arabia, said, “I’m deeply shocked and saddened over the deaths and injuries of huge working people in a tragic incident ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.”
The BNP chief also prayed for salvation of the departed souls of those killed in the blast and expressed her deep sympathy to their bereaved family members. She wished early recovery of those injured in the disastrous incident. Khaleda urged the authorities concerned to ensure treatment of the injured workers.
At least 26 workers were killed and 70 others injured as fire broke out across the five-storey building of Tampaco Foils Ltd factory after a boiler exploded early morning.
