Khaleda offers fateha at Prophet’s Rawja Mubarak

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia along with party senior vice chairman and her eldest son Tarique Rahman offered fateha at the holy Rawja Mubarak of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) in Madina in the early hours of Monday.
They offered fateha at the holy Rawja Mubarak (grave) at Masjid-e-Nababi at around 12:10am
(Saudi time), Khaleda’s media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan told UNB quoting her press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan.
They sought divine blessings for peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Bangladesh and the Muslim Ummah while performing Ziarat at the Rawja Mubarak. They also prayed to the Almighty Allah so that Bangladesh can be freed from the “misrule of the current regime”, he said.
Tarique’s wife Dr Zobaida Rahman, daughter Zaima Rahman, Maruf Kamal, Khaleda’s special assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, BJP chairman Andalib Rahman, among others, offered fateha along with the BNP chief.
Earlier, Tarique took Iftar at Masjid-e-Nababi along with his party colleagues and others.
Following their emotional reunion in Dubai after over three years, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman arrived in Madina, Saudi Arabia on Sunday morning to perform Umrah as Royal guests.
Khaleda, Tarique, his wife and daughter and Khaleda’s younger brother Shamim Iskandar’s wife are staying in a hotel near Masjid-e-Nababi.
They will go to Jeddah from Madina today (Tuesday). Later, they will go to Makkah by road and perform Umrah there. They will also pass Lailatul Qadr at the Masjid-ul-Haram, he added.
Sources close to Tarique wishing anonymity said Khaleda and Tarique were discussing various crucial issues like party’s overhaul process, strategy for the post-Eid movement and party’s council apart from their religious rituals.
The BNP chief is expected to return home on July 26, while Tarique and his family to go back to London.
