Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Sunday said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia joined the electioneering for her party-backed candidates of the April 28 city polls realising her blunder of boycotting the January-5 national election.
The minister came up with his harsh remarks while talking to reporters at his ministry after a meeting with Chine Ambassador Ma Mingqiang on Sunday.
“It would have been better had she taken part in the January 5 election. Now people will give the befitting reply through the ballot to all the acts of and sabotage carried out by Khaleda Zia over the last three months,” he said.
