BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia along with her family members went to Madinah from Makkah on Saturday to offer fateha at the rawja (grave) of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh). The BNP chief and her family members, who had been staying in Mina Royal Palace for the last three days after performing hajj, offered the concluding tawaf of Kaaba Sharif in
the morning before starting her journey for Madinah, said Sharif Shah Kamal Taj who is on her entourage.
Later, he said they arrived at Madinah from Makkah by a flight of Saudi Airlines.
Kamal said, Khaleda, her eldest son and BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman, his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman, daughter Zaima Rahman, late Arafat Rahman Koko’s wife Sharmila Rahman will be staying in Madinah for a few days.
During their stay there, he said they will offer fateha at the greatest Prophet’s rawja and say prayers at Masjid al-Nabawi. On September 7, the BNP chief along with her entourage left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by a flight of Saudi Airlines, while Tarique and his family members left London for Jeddah on the same day to perform hajj at the invitation of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Party insiders said, Khaleda is expected to return home on September 22.
