Khaleda greets UK’s new PM

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has congratulated Theresa May on her appointment as the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
The BNP chief sent a felicitation message to Theresa May on Wednesday through the British High Commission here, her media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan told UNB.
In her message, Khaleda hoped that the new British PM will be able to reflect the aspirations of people under her bold leadership following the Britain’s exit from the European Union (EU).
She also hoped that the existing friendly ties
between Bangladesh and the UK will be strengthened further during her tenure. Khaleda wished Theresa May good health and long life.
Theresa May, 59, became British Prime Minister on Wednesday after David Cameron resigned following the last month’s referendum which resulted in Britain’s exit from the European Union (EU).
An ex-UK Home Secretary and a senior Conservative Party leader, Theresa May has became the UK’s second female Prime Minister.
