Khaleda becoming crippled in jail: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Almagir on Tuesday said, his party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is gradually becoming crippled in jail.
“Begum Khaleda Zia is gradually and seriously becoming a disable person in jail. She cannot take meals by her own hand. She needed others’ help to do it. She even cannot sit in her bed without support,” Mirza Fakhrul said while delivering speech in a human chain in front of Jatiya Press Club
organized by ‘Sammilito Peshajibi Parishad’ demanding the party chief’s release from jail.
BNP Secretary General said, “Without sitting on wheel chair, Khaleda Zia cannot move an inch. But the hospital authority is saying as per the government’s directives that Khaleda’s health condition is well.”
He demanded justice and Khaleda’s immediate release from jail. The BNP leader asked the government to release Khaleda Zia’s health report in public which was submitted by the Medical Board formed to examine her health condition. BNP Vice-Chairman Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, Shawkat Mahmud, BNP leader Fazlur Rahman, BFUJ (pro-BNP) President Ruhul Amin Gazi, Secretary General M Abdullah and DUJ (pro-BNP) General Secretary Shahidul Islam, among others, were present.
