Khagrachhari vibrant with tourists in Eid holidays

To spend their Eid vacations, tourists from all over the country are thronging here. As a result, hotel, motel and handicrafts owners are happy as they are doing brisk business.
District administration sources said, there are around 50 residential hotels and motels including government ones in Khagrachhari. These were decorated nicely before Eid aiming to draw the tourists? attention.
Moreover, Alutila, Rechang Waterfall, Zila Parishad Park, Heritage Park of Sadar Upazila, Thoiduchhara Waterfall and Hazachhara Waterfall of Dighinala Upazila, Devotar Pukur (pond), Monartek Lake of Mohalchhari Upazila, Aranya Kuthir and Rubber Dam of Panchhari Upazila, Bonolata Agro Farm and Sritidam Babna Kendra of Manikchhari Upazila, artificial lake and Kalshirmukh of Ramgorh Upazila, and Sajek Valley of Baghaichhari Upazila in Rangamati District have also been decorated nicely to attract tourists.
Alik, an MBA student of Dhaka University, came from Munshiganj and is happy to see Mohalchhari Debotar Pukur, which is located around 1000 feet up from sea level, and the Alutilla Mysterious Cave.
Sharmin Akter, another tourist from Chittagong, said she is happy with the security measures and hoped that the communication and infrastructure facilities would
be bettered.
When contacted, the Managing Director of Khagrachhari Parjatan Motel BM Omar Faruqe said he is happy as all 50 rooms of his motel were reserved till July 30.
 Following the reservation we will earn more than Tk 20-25 lakh in two weeks; our annual income target is around Tk 1 core, he added.
While talked, Ananta Bikash Tripura, the managing director of Hotel Gairing, said huge tourists came in the hill district to spend and enjoy the Eid vacation.
We are happy as we could fulfill our income targets. All 40 rooms of the hotel were reserved till July 28, he added.
Binoy Chakma, sales representative of Paharika Textile and Handicrafts, said, We are making hefty profits selling local clothes and handicrafts. Most of the buyers are tourists.
Superintendent of Police Md. Mozid Ali BPM, said strict security measures have been taken to ensure tourists safety.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Wahiduzzaman said Khagrachhari is buzzing with tourists as favourable situation is prevailing here.
