The connecting road between the inaccessible Laxichhari Upazila and Guimara Upazila of Khagrachhari Hill District has collapsed. The road collapsed when it rained for a few days last week from the middle of this month and sank at two places in the Banshgram area.
The Laxichhari Upazila Engineering Department of the Local Government Engineering Department has not been repairing the road for the past one week.
The road connects Laxichhari Sadar, a remote upazila in Khagrachhari district, to Sindhukchhari in Guimara upazila. The Department of Local Government Engineering, Khagrachhari District Local Government Engineering Department constructed the road protection walls a month ago to protect the road with site wall or side wall in every place of this connection road. Unfortunately, it rained for two or three days before the road wall collapsed and the paved road was washed away.
