Khagrachhari Crime Reporters Unity (KCRU) has been launched with the working journalists of the district for investigative journalism. A new committee was formed at a meeting held in the temporary office of the District City on Sunday afternoon.
Senior journalist and district correspondent of Daily Ittefaq, Tarun Kumar Bhattacharjee was selected president, district correspondent of Gazi Television, Jashim Uddin Mazumder is the Vice-President and district correspondent of Maasranga Television Kanan Acharya is selected as the general secretary for the next two years, and 11-member Executive Committee has been formed.
District correspondent of Independent Television, Samir Mallik as a joint secretary, district correspondent of online news portal “jagonews24.com”, Mujibur Rahman Bhuiyan as a Finance secretary, district correspondent of Daily Adhikar, Al-Mamun as a publicity and publication secretary and district correspondent of Asian Television, Biplob Talukdar has been as the Office Secretary.
Apart from this, executive members in the committee; District correspondent of Sangbad Pratidin, Liton Battachrjee Rana, Ramgarh upazila correspondent of Daily Inqilab, Ratan Baishnav Tripura, district correspondent of online news portal “joynews.com”, Jafar Sabuj and Dighinala upazila correspondent of “chenginews24.com”, Jiban Chowdhury Ujjal.
The organization’s founding president, Tarun Kumar Bhattacharjee said, “KCRU’s journey has started with interested journalist to investigative journalism in Khagrachhari hill district”.
He also said, “There is no alternative to good journalism in forming the nation and nation. Through Khagrachhari Crime Reporters Unity investigation journalism will highlight the problems, chances, irregularities and corruption of Chattogram Hill Tracts”.
