In observance of the National Fuel Security Day-2014 , Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Ltd (KGDCL) brought out a colourful rally yesterday morning in the city yesterday.
The rally brought out from Chittagong Stadium adjacent premises carrying festoons, banners etc which terminated at Chittagong Press Club Square after parading the city roads through Askherdigi and Chatteswari road.
Officials and employees irrespective of status spontaneously participated the rally and procession. In a brief deliverations, managing director of KGDCL Mir Abdul Matin depicted the significance of the day and the emergence of the KGDCL since 1975.
The govt owned gas distribution company launched its activities with 5 gas fields owned by the then Bangladesh Shell Oil company in 1975. These 5 gas field are Titas, Bakhrabad, Habigonj, Kailashtila and Rashidpur. Govt is observing the National Fuel Security day on August 9 year year. Among others General Manager (Admin) Chowdhury Ahsan Habib, company secretary Neazur Rahman, General Manager (Marketting) Engr. Firoj Alam, General Manager (Operation) Engr. SR Khan and General Manager(Engineering) Engr. Shahid Ali, General Manager(Planning) Engr. Druz Prasad Dev and other senior officials were present in the rally infront of Press club square.
The KGDCL boss requested the consumers of Gas to be more aware on misuse of gas and proper ulitization of natural gas as the country facing from acute crisis of gas.
