Arambagh Krira Sangha’s Nigerian forward Kester Ekon powered them to beat Uttar Baridhara Club by 2-1 goals in their 3rd match of the JB Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at MA Aziz Stadium here on Wednesday.
On completion of the Chittagong leg of the league, Arambagh KS collected four points from their three matches while Uttar Baridhara Club bagged three points from as many matches.
In the day’s match, midfielder Sentu Chandra Shen scored first for Uttar Baridhara Club in the 19th minute by a header from the danger zone off a Monir Alam cross from right flank (1-0).
Nigerian forward cum Arambagh captain Kester Ekon leveled the margin in the 26th minute by a free kick from top of the box (1-1).
Kester Ekon sealed the fate of the match scoring his 2nd goal in the 80th minute by a left footer from the danger zone after receiving a through pass from midfield (2-1).
In the 65th minute, Arambagh midfielder Yoko Samnick created a good chance after dodging past Baridhara defender, but his right footer from the danger zone went outside.
Uttar Baridhara forward Alamgir took a powerful shot from the left flank in the 72nd minute but Arambagh goalie Pappu Hossain saved his castle brilliantly.
Arambagh KS started their league campaign with a 1-1 draw against defending champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, but conceded a 0-3 defeat against Muktijoddha SKC in the 2nd match and finally tasted their maiden victory beating Uttara Baridhara by 2-1 goals.
Uttar Baridhara started their league campaign with a stunning 1-0 victory over former champions Sheikh Russel KC, then conceded a 5-3 defeat against Sheikh Jamal DC in the 2nd round and completed their Chittagong phase with a 1-2 defeat on Wednesday.
