Police have identified the people who were found dead in a rented flat in Kolakandi area of South Keraniganj, on the outskirts of the capital.
The victims are Shaju Ahmed, 35, his wife Ronju Begum, 28, their son Imran, 8, and daughter Sanjeeda, 2. They hailed from Panchagarh. South Keraniganj police station’s Officer-in-Charge Jalal Uddin Mir confirmed their identities to The New Nation on Thursday afternoon.
He said: “Shaju’s brother arrived from Panchagarh in the morning and identified the victims.”
The bodies have been taken to the Mitford Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Earlier, police recovered the bodies of the four persons (couple and their two children) from a flat of a six-storied building at Kolakandi of Abdullahpur village under South Keraniganj on Wednesday.
