Five more burn victims of plastic factory fire in Keraniganj succumbed to injuries on Sunday.
With this, the death toll reaches 19.
The victims were identified as: Abdur Razzak, Muttaqim and Abu Sayeed who breathed their last at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Sunday morning. Meanwhile, Sumon and Sojan Das died on Sunday evening.
Dr. Samonto Lal Sen, Chief Coordinator of DMCH burn unit confirmed the news to the media that around 14 burn patients are still in burn unit. They are not out of danger.
On Thursday, 12 workers, who were critically burnt in Wednesday’s factory fire, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Earlier, 12 victims’ bodies were handed over to their families.
The inferno sparked by a gas cylinder explosion at a factory in Hijaltola killed 14 workers so far and injured 35 others. Firefighters recovered the charred body of Jakir Hossain, 25, from the spot.
