Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Tuesday asked the teachers of schools, colleges and universities to keep eyes on their students so that they cannot engage in militant activities.
“You should inquire about the students of your respective institutions. What’re they up to? With whom they’re mixing up? You’ve to keep account of all these matters,” he said while addressing a views-exchange meeting, titled ‘Better Education Environment, Militancy-free Campus’. The meeting was organised by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rajshahi at Rajshahi Medical College auditorium.
The Education Minister observed that if the teachers lacking the ability to recognise their own students are not competent for the profession. “If teachers can’t recognise the students, they’re not at all competent to teach,” he said.
