Vice Chairman BNP Major (Retd) Hafizuddin Ahmed Bir Bikram said , Shaheed Zia and Khaleda Zia’s role in the history of independent and democratic Bangladesh can not be wiped out. Begum Zia has built this country and it will be written as a golden era. But she was kept in jail in a false case by this autocratic government.
BNP is participating in the election as a part of movement to free Khaleda Zia and democracy.
There is no other alternative but to elect an honest candidate Nazrul Islam Manju to develop this city. BNP nominated one of the popular people of this region for Mayoral candidate.
He was speaking in an election campaigning here today.
Central leader Nazrul Islam Khan, Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu and former whip Joinal Abedin Faruk also campaigned at different places of the city.
Awami League Mayoral Candidate Talukder Khaleque said he will build income generating organizations in the city for the future generation bringing development fund from Shaikh Hasina. He said economically sound organizations can provide more job seekers. He planned to develop the city to reach the goal of 2030.
He was speaking while campaigning in ward No 25 and 26.
Abdul Khaleque’s promise
Mayoral candidate of Awami League Talukder Abdul Khaleque promised that he will be built new play grounds in all the ward of the city corporation if he is elected. Due to lack of play grounds for the children they can not grow up healthy. He developed Shahid Hadis Park in his tenure but could not do further as he was not elected next time in the election.
He was campaigning different places of the city on Saturday .
