The famous crossing of the port city- Kazir Dewri Moor has been named after Dr Zakaria Chowdhury .
From now on, Kazir Dewri Moor in Chittagong city will be known as Zakeria Chowdhury Chattar.
Chittagong City Corporation at a meeting on Sunday renamed the intersection near Chittagong Outer Stadium and Circuit House, said a press release of Dr Zakeria Chowdhury Smrity Parishad on Thursday.
The decision to rename of the road was taken in honour of Dr Zakeria Chowdhury, a close aide of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a Liberation War organizer, a politician and a social worker and Chittagong.
