Incumbent President Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin was re-elected President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on Saturday. Salahuddin got 94 votes to retain his post for the fourth time. The election was held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city. His nearest candidate Badal Roy, who withdrew his candidature
after the timeframe of withdrawal, got 40 votes. Shafiqul Islam Manik, the other candidate for the supreme post of BFF got only one vote.
A total of 135 councillors out of 139 delegates cast their votes in the much-hyped BFF election.
Abdus Salam Murshedy, MP, was re-elected Senior Vice-President with 91 votes, while his rival Sheikh Md Aslam got only 44 votes.
It may be mentioned that the election was held for the four posts of Vice-Presidents.
Imrul Hasan was elected Vice-President of BFF. He got highest 89 votes.
Kazi Nabil Ahmed, MP, was elected Vice-President for the fourth consecutive time with 81 votes.
Ataur Rahman Manik was elected Vice-President, who got 75 votes.
Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi and Tabith Awal got 65 votes each for the post of Vice-Presidents. Thus their fate will be decided on October 31 in a re-election.
