Police have arrested six people, including three stepbrothers, in connection with the murder of a man named Kawsar Ahmed.
They were arrested on Friday police said on Saturday.
The arrested are- Md. Sajjad Hossain, Md. Shawkat Ali, Haji Md. Afsar Uddin, Md. Rakibul Alam, Md. Arafat Mia alias Jigar and Md. Zahurul Islam Titu. Among them are Sajjad Hossain, Shawkat Ali and Afsar Uddin are the stepbrothers of the dead.
Pahartali Police Station OC Hasan Imam said six people were arrested after the incident with the help of information technology. Under interrogation, they confessed to involvement in the killings. They have been sent to court.
Earlier, the incident took place at Abdul Monaf’s house on Sagarika Road on Thursday night. Kawsar Ahmed was beaten by his brother-in-law Sajjad and several others including Shawkat following a dispute over property. At one point they stabbed him in the throat. He was later taken to Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
