Actor Katie Holmes has donated USD 10,000 to a fund created to help Tony award winner Ruthie Ann Miles who lost her daughter in an accident. Miles, who is pregnant with her second child, was crossing a street in Brooklyn with her four-year-old daughter, Abigail, when a driver allegedly jumped a red light, killing the child. The 34-year-old actor was checked into the hospital in critical condition but has since stabilized.
Celebrities and her fans have been donating to Miles and her family. A community members including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Platt and Kristin Chenoweth have also donated.
Holmes and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Oscar-winning songwriter of ‘Coco’, have contributed USD 10, 000 each. Keri Russell, who worked with Miles on FX’s hit series ‘The Americans’, donated USD 3,000 to her campaign.
