An drug addict son allegedly stabs to give money for drugs at Katiadi town of Kishoreganj on Friday night around 11.pm. The victim Nidam Miah (57) was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition where duty doctors declared him dead. Police recovered the body on Saturday morning and sent to the Kishoreganj 250-bed General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Besides, the mob arrested the killer’s son Hridoy and handed him over to the police. Killer Hridoy Mia, who was already lying in wait with a sharp weapon near a paddy field 150 yards away from the Bhairab-Kishoreganj regional highway, accidentally stabbed his father and fled with serious injuries. Victim’s younger brother Ratan Mia said that the deadly heart for drug money almost always demanded large sums of money from the parents. If not, he would vandalize things and show fear of being beaten.
Katiadi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Shahadat Hossain told the New Nation that the body was sent to Kishoreganj 250-bed General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The sharp weapon used in the murder has been seized. The arrested heart confessed to the murder during preliminary interrogation, Katiadi OC added.
