Karnataka led by five runs in the first innings against the touring Bangladesh A team on the first day of the three-dayer match at Mysore in India on Tuesday.
 Electing to bat first, Bangladesh A team scored 158 in the first innings.
In reply, Karnataka made 163 for the loss of six wickets before the bails were drawn for the first day.
Bangladesh A team’s batsmen failed to build any notable partnership.
Bangladesh A team faced an early collapse losing five wickets for just 41 runs.
Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury and Liton Kumar Das were the two batsmen of Bangladesh A team who got success with the willow.
Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury knocked 55 from 65 balls with seven fours and a sixer while Liton Kumar Das hit a run-a-ball 55 featuring 11 fours.
Anamul Haque (5), Rony Talukdar (0), Mominul Haque (1), Soumya Sarkar (0), Nasir Hossain (8), Kamrul Islam Rabbi (8), Jubair Hossain (4), Al-Amin Hossain (5) all Bangladeshi batsmen failed to reach double-digit figures.
Saqlain Sajib remained unbeaten with 15 off 30 balls including two fours.
M Prashid Krishna played the key role in wrecking Bangladesh A innings and finished his superb spell as 12-2-49-5.
UB Patel bagged a pair of wickets at the cost of 11 runs.
Besides, J Suchith, HS Sharath and S Gopal took one wicket each for 22, 28 and 36 runs respectively.
Later, Karnataka lost their early six wickets for 100 runs.
SA Bhavane and J Suchith added 63 runs for the unbroken seventh wicket partnership.
SA Bhavane remained unbeaten with 55. His 88-ball innings was decorated with eight fours and a sixer.
AM Reddy and R Samarth scored 28 and 25 runs respectively.
J Suchith remained unbeaten with 14 runs.
Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury and Saqlain Sajib grabbed three wickets each for 29 and 48 runs respectively.
