Karachi Kings pick Shakib for PSL

World famed all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was picked by Karachi Kings for franchise based five-team Pakistan Super League (PSL) maiden tournament starting in February 2016.
The Bangladesh born superstar Shakib Al Hasan has been valued as platinum category players to receive $140,000.
Having the second opportunity on the first day of the PSL players draft held in Karachi on Monday, Karachi Kings registered Shakib after icon player Shoaib Malik.
Bangladesh off-cutter sensation Mustafizur Rahman, who was recently included in the ICC’s ODI team of the year, was taken by Lahore Qalandars from the Gold category while Bangladesh national team dashing opener Tamim Iqbal picked up from the same bracket by Peshawar Zalmi.
Shakib Al Hasan is the only Bangladeshi player who has been selected as a Platinum category player. Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Mustafizur Rahman, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shahriar Nafees were included in the Gold category. Mominul Haque, Imrul Kayes, Mahmudullah Riyad and Anamul Haque pitted in the Silver category.
Players placed in the Platinum category will receive $140,000, Diamond category $70,000, Gold category $50,000 and Silver category $25,000.
A total of 45 players were drafted among the five franchises on the first day on Monday. The teams had to pick three players each from the Platinum, Diamond and Gold categories with a minimum of four Pakistanis and four foreigners.
The draft will end-up on Tuesday when each team will be allowed to choice five players from the Silver category and two from the Emerging category. Franchises will also have the option to bolster their squad strength to 20 by picking four supplemental players.

Islamabad United: Shane Watson, Andre Russell, Misbah-ul-Haq, Samuel Badree, Mohammad Irfan, Brad Haddin, Sharjeel Khan, Mohammad Sami and Khalid Latif.
Karachi Kings: Shoaib Malik, Shakib Al Hasan, Sohail Tanvir, Imad Wasim, Ravi Bopara, Lendl Simmons, Mohammad Amir, Bilawal Bhatti and James Vince.
Peshawar Zalmi: Shahid Afridi, Wahab Riaz, Darren Sammy, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Hafeez, Chris Jordan, Tamim Iqbal, Junaid Khan and Jim Allenby.
Quetta Gladiators: Kevin Pietersen, Sarfraz Ahmed, Ahmed Shehzad, Anwar Ali, Jason Holder, Luke Wright, Zulfiqar Babar, Umar Gul and Elton Chigumbura.
Lahore Qalandars: Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Umar Akmal, Mohammad Rizwan, Yasir Shah, Shoaib Maqsood, Mustafizur Rahman, Kevon Cooper and Cameron Delport.
