Pick-up driver Faruk Hossain (20) was electrocuted in Kapasia, Gazipur. The incident took place at Kauser Engineering Workshop and Car Washing in Birujli Bazar of the upazila on Monday morning. Faruk Hossain is the son of Akkas Ali, a carpenter from the southern part of Birujli village in Tok Union.
It is learned that around 8:30 am, a local trader took the rented pick-up to Riton’s egg farm to Kauser Engineering Workshop and Car Washing for washing. As the owner was busy with other work at that time, he himself went to switch on the water pump motor for washing the pick-up and was electrified. It is alleged that Shohel, the owner of the car wash, ran away at that time. Later, the locals rescued him and took him to the Upazila Health Complex. The on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Upon receiving the news of the accident, Sub-Inspector Investigation (SI) of Kapasia Police Station Anwar Hossain visited the spot and confirmed the incident. No legal action has been taken as no one has complained.
