Cheques for Tk 10,000 to Tk 30,000 have been provided as grants to each of the three families whose houses and furniture were burnt to ashes in a fire at Shukur Ali’s house in Marulia Para of Rayed Union in Kapasia Upazila of Gazipur. Besides, a cheque for Tk. 10,000 was distributed among the families of Bedena Akhter of Karihata Union, whose house collapsed due to heavy rains.
Advocate Md Amanat Hossain Khan, Chairman of the Upazila Parishad and vice-president of the district Awami League, distributed a checques among the fire affected families in a formal ceremony held at the Upazila Parishad chairman’s office on Thursday.
Chairman of Rayed Union Parishad Shafiqul Hakim Mollah Hiron, Deputy Office Secretary of Upazila Awami League Al-Amin Sheikh, former president of Rayed Union Juba League Iqbal Haider, Joint General Secretary of District Swechchhasebak League Tayeb Khan Kisur, former BCL leader Mehedi Hasan Rana and others were present.
