Noted film actor Ilias Kanchan and
popular actress Nipun will contest for
the positions of the President and General Secretary respectively in the upcoming Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association
elections for 2022-2024. They are
competing from the same panel.
While talking in this regard, Ilias Kanchan said, “We will march forward with all the artistes of the film alliance and ensure that all members of this family are treated equally. I have a sparkling new committee as a gift for this year.”
Nipun shared her feelings by this way, “We will try and champion a number of projects this year so that we can accommodate work for everyone. We only want to take this sector forward. Thus, have decided to participate in the elections.”
Noted actors Misha Sawdagor and Zayed Khan, who served as the President and General Secretary respectively in the previous term, will be leading with their panel this year too.
The 17th edition of the Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association elections will be held on January 28. A general meeting with all the existing members of the organisation was held yesterday.
Pirzada Harun will be the election commissioner with members B H Nishan and Bazlur Rashed Chowdhury. Sohanur Rahman Sohan will serve as the chair of the appeal board, while Mohammad Hossain Jaimy will serve as a member of the appeal group.
