Rajon murder: Kamrul to be brought back in 2 weeks: Minister

State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam on Friday said that Kamrul Islam, the prime accused of Samiul Alam Rajon murder, will be brought back from Saudi Arabia in two weeks.
“It can take one or two weeks to bring back Kamrul as Saudi Royal Court has already given their approval on the matter,” he said while addressing a conference of
 Model United Nations at Rajshahi University.
“We have handed over the legal copies, documents to Interpol and he [Kamrul] will be brought back to country after the Interpol finalises the papers,” he said.
Earlier, the Royal Court of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has approved deportation of alleged killer Kamrul Islam.
Meanwhile, in a Facebook post on his verified official page, State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam yesterday said, “Saudi Royal court approved deportation of Kamrul. They have already issued a letter to Interpol. Few other paper works should not take more than two weeks.”
Earlier, the Inspector General of Police [IGP] AKM Shahidul Haque told reporters that Rajon murder accused Kamrul Islam will be brought back home from Saudi Arabia soon with the help of the Interpol.
On July 8, 13-year-old boy Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon, son of Sheikh Azizur Rahman of Badeali village in Sadar upazila, was brutally tortured to death over a theft at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area of the city.
Kamrul, the prime accused, fled to Saudi Arabia soon after Rajon’s death.He was identified by some expatriate Bangladeshis in Jeddah on July 13 and caught and handed him over to the Bangladesh consulate in Jeddah from where Saudi Police took him into their custody.
