Kamrul Islam Rabbi of Fortune Barishal hit a hat-trick in his last over as well as the last over of fortune Barishal on Tuesday. Kamtul Islam Rabbi hit the hat-trick against Minister Group Rajshahi in their match of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup Cricket at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur. It was the first hat-trick in the ongoing five-team cricket tournament. After the end of the Minister Group Rajshahi’s innings Kamrul Islam Rabbi finished his spell as 4-0-49-4.
He dismissed Nurul Hasan in his first delivery of the last over. Then plucked Najmul Hossain Shanto in the second delivery. He removed Farhad Reza in the third delivery and fulfilled his hat-trick. After his one delivery he dismissed Mohammad Saifuddin.
It was the fourth hat-trick for a bowler of Bangladesh in T20 Cricket. Earlier, Al-Amin Hossain of BCB XI got hat-trick against Abahani Limited in 2013, while Al-Amin Hossain of Barishal Bulls hit a hat-trick against Sylhet Superstars in 2015 and Alis Al Islam of Dhaka Dynamites struck hat-trick against Rangpur Riders in 2019.
