Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Tuesday urged the UK’s private sector to invest in Bangladesh’s power, rail and education sectors capitalizing its investment-friendly environment.
The Planning Minister made the urge when a UK delegation led by Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for India and South Asia Crispin Simon met him at his office. UK High Commissioner to Dhaka Alison Blake was also present, said a Ministry press release.
Kamal said Bangladesh has been experiencing demographic dividend and it will continue till 2061 while the youth-folk of the country are being provided with various training to build them as skilled workforce.
Highlighting the latest investment environment of the country before the UK delegation, Kamal said some 100 special economic zones are being established across the country while the government has been removing various obstacles towards simplifying investment as well as maintaining business-friendly environment.
AHM Mustafa Kamal, commonly known as Lotus Kamal, also requested Simon to send a business delegation to Bangladesh.
