Kalomanik in Kisoreganj to be sold at Tk.15 lakh

A dark black bull named Kalomanik in Kishoreganj district is wanted to sell at Tk. 15 lac in the upcoming Eid-ul-Aza. The bull is 10 feet long and 5 feet high, and it weighs about 1300 kg or 35 lbs. The bull is named Kalomanik because of its dark black color. People from far and wide are crowding to see this attractive bull.
Rubel Mia, a resident in Dakshin Kurimara village under Sahedal Union of Hossionpur upazila of Kishoreganj started rearing the bull of Brahma breed as hobby. The bull was born in his farm three years ago. He raised the bull with utmost care by eating natural food. It is very beautiful in black shape.
With the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha in mind, the owner wants Tk 15 lakh as price of the bull. Meantime, the wholesalers have come and said to pay 10/11 lakh taka.
However, owner Rubel Mia is unwilling to sell Kalomanik at this price. He expects Tk. 15 lac.
Rubel said a separate shed was made for Kalomanik after it birth with the help of Upazila Livestock Office about three years ago.
There is 24-hour electric fan system for Kalomanik. It needs special care and food. The daily food list includes soybean meal, wheat, maize, gram, green grass and fruits.
Brahma is disease resistant. This breed of cow is very suitable in the climate of Bangladesh. This breed of cow is usually capable of producing 1000-1600 kg of meat.
“I have been taking care of Kalomanik for three years with huge expense” said Rubel, owner of Kalomanik. I want to sell Kalomanik from home. Since the Corona is spreading around, I have no desire to go to the Korbani market and sell.
Veterinary Surgeon (VS) Md. Lutfur Rahman said, this breed of beef is very nutritious and delicious to eat. So food lovers are interested in buying it at a higher price.
Upazila Livestock Officer (ULO) in Hossionpur Abdul Mannan said, there are many benefits to keeping a bull of this breed. Its meat is also delicious. Rubel Mia raises the bull by providing local food without using any harmful drugs, the ULO added.
