Kajal’s video draws flak from animal rights activists

What’s with Tollywood stars’ fascination to post selfies posing with endangered animals? Barely a week after actor Trisha got slammed by animal rights activists for posting ‘cute’ pictures with dolphins, Bellamkonda Srinivas got trolled for posing with a tusker in Dubai and Thailand. And now Kajal Aggarwal has gone one better and posted a video flaunting a python around her neck. The actor, who is currently on a holiday in Thailand, is seen trying to make the python face the camera. “What an experience”, posted the actor, who is seen in the video saying: “I can feel the feel of the snake and its muscles, moving.”
The clip has gone viral garnering a staggering 1 crore views in a day. While most of her followers are calling her “brave” and “fearless”, some asked: “Are you supporting animal abuse”. Animal rights activists, however, mince no words to say it is “highly irresponsible” of Kajal who launched PETA’s anti circus campaign in the past, to post the video.
“Snakes go through a lot when they are caged in small confinements. They are brutally defanged and are used as objects of entertainment for humans. By posting these pictures, Kajal is endorsing animal cruelty. What kind of a message is she sending out to millions of her followers who could be inspired to follow suit. Celebs must be mindful of the example they are setting,” fumes Hyderabad-based animal activist, Payal Khurana.
