Krishak Sramik Janata League (KSJL) of Kader Siddiqui on Monday formally joined Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikyafront to work for a credible and acceptable national election in the country.
KSJL President Kader Siddiqui said it at a press conference in his party office in the capital’s Motijheel area.
After announcement, Kader Siddiqui called on Dr. Kamal Hossain in his chamber at Motijheel. Dr. Kamal hugged him and said: I am proud of Bangobir. His joining will strengthen the Jatiya Oikyafront movement. He said, I am not worried about Oikyafront. Even if I retire from Oikyafront, it will certainly reach its destination because of Kader Siddiqui.
Kader Siddiqui said, “We want a credible and acceptable [national] election where people will be able to cast their votes. So, I declare my party’s decision with pleasure that from now on we’re with Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikyafront”.
Kader Siddiqui further said, “Today is the best day in my life. I’ll assist Dr Kamal Hossain with my all strength and work for people as much as possible for me.”
He said Dr Kamal Hossain will provide them legal assistance and the Oikyafront leaders will carry out struggle for the country in the field. “We’ll work together under his leadership for the emancipation of the nation.”
The KSJL chief said, the country is now staggering due to misrule. “Even after that, I thank her (Hasina) as she is holding talks. The situation has improved a bit from the day she started talks.”
“It’s not a tough job to achieve victory through a struggle. Tikka Khan and Yahya Khan were defeated by us and Niazi surrendered to us bowing his head down. Those who are now autocrats also will surrender to us.”
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD-Rob) President ASM Abdur Rab said, Kader Siddiqui has immense contributions to forging the unity. “Our struggle is for restoring of democracy and people’s voting rights. The intensity of our struggle has increased through his joining.”

Kader Siddiqui was supposed to make announcement of joining the Oikyafront at a discussion in the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh in presence of Dr Kamal Hossain on Saturday, but he took time to take the final decision in this regard.
On October 13, BNP together with Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Prokriya, JSD and Nagorik Oikya launched the Jatiya Oikyafront to press for their seven-point demand.
The Oikyafront’s seven-point demand includes installation of a neutral interim government, dissolution of parliament, reconstitution the Election Commission, release of all the political prisoners, deployment of army and cancellation of the move to use Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for holding the next polls in fair and acceptable manner.
