Awami League has nominated Marina Jahan Kabita as its candidate for Sirajganj-6 constituency by-election.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the party’s parliamentary and local government election nomination board on Thursday, with Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
The party today also nominated their candidates for a parliamentary seats, 10 municipalities and two upazilas.
The seat fell vacant from September 2 after the death of Hasibur Rahman Swapan,
an Awami League MP from this constituency, from novel coronavirus.
The election to this constituency will be held on November 2.
Marina Jahan Kabita is the sister of former lawmaker Choyon Islam.
