Celebrated Indian-Bengali singer, lyricist and composer Kabir Suman is scheduled to perform at three programmes in Dhaka in October, said a press release.
Peephole, the organiser of the programmes, confirmed the news yesterday. The music shows will be held at the Bangladesh National Museum in the capital.
Kabir Suman has agreed to perform in three programmes scheduled to be held on October 15, 18 and 21. He has been practising Kheyal songs for the past few years.
He will perform Kheyal songs on October 18. Besides, he will perform modern Bengali songs in the other two events. The programmes will be live-streamed on demand on a closed Facebook group, said the organisers.
Kabir Suman’s visit will mark the 30th year of the release of his popular solo album titled ‘Tomake Chai.’ He is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka by the second week of October and expected to stay for a week. The legendary singer last performed in Dhaka in October 2009.
He started his music career in 1972 and has won millions of hearts during his prolific and illustrious music career.
