Kabir Ahmed, Chairman of Conveyor Group, has been newly elected as the President of Bangladesh Freight Forwarders Association (BAFFA).
The Board of Directors election of Bangladesh Freight Forwarders Association (BAFFA) was held on the 20th of November 2019 at the RAOWA Club in Dhaka and at the Hotel Agrabad in Chattogram, simultaneously.
The outcome of the election resulted in the Sammilito Parishad led by Kabir Ahmed won 14 seats and the Sacheton Oikkyo Parishad led by Syed Mastafizur Rahman won 5 seats. The Board of Directors has been elected for the next two years through direct voting by 935 members of the association (BAFFA), which currently is ranked right after the FBCCI, BGMEA and BKMEA in commercial importance.
Kabir Ahmed will be receiving entrustment, as the leader of the winning panel, to take on the responsibility as the President of BAFFA. He has been elected having earned the highest cast of votes in the history of BAFFA elections. In addition, Kabir Ahmed is also the President of World Freight Group (WFG) – one of the world’s leading logistics networks of top international freight forwarders, the President of International Air Express Association of Bangladesh (IAEAB), Board Director of the Bangladesh Shipping Agents Association (BSAA), Board Director – Japan Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI) and Board Director – Spain Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SBCCI).
