Kabaddi team leaves for Nepal today

A 12-member Bangladesh kabaddi team leave for Nepalese capital Kathmandu today (Tuesday) to take part in the International Friendship Men’s Kabaddi Tournament staring from Thursday (September 21).
The four nation tournament comprises Asian powerhouse India, emerging force Sri Lanka and hosts Nepal.
The Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation general secretary Habibur Rahman, also the Additional DIG of Bangladesh Police, revealed the team’s aspiration.
“Kabaddi, the national game of the country at the moment is not in a good shape, but we have been trying to change the scenario, the kababdi team has been idle for a long time and to give some refreshing air we are sending the team to Nepal, it is the start of our preparation for the 2018 Asian Games, we look forward to put kabaddi at the top and we believe Bangladesh has the capability to surge ahead.”
Bangladesh kabaddi team coach Abdul Jalil, the experienced name informed there will be tough competition in the meet. “India always are a strong team, Sri Lanka beat us in the SAF Games and Nepal will be enjoying the home advantage, however we are eyeing the title and as we have taken the preparation for attaining the target” said Jalil.
Captain Masud Karim echoed in a similar tone saying that : “We believe in ourselves, we are confident of putting a good show for the sake of the country, the team spirit is high.”
The 15-memebr Bangladesh team comprised with twelve players and three officials. Apart from Bangladesh, India Sri Lanka and host Nepal will take part in the tournament.
Bangladesh Kabaddi team : Masud Karin (captain), M Ruhul Amin, M Ferdous, Arif Robbani, Tuhin Tarafdar, M Momin, Touhidul Islam, Rumanuzzaman, Jahangir Alam, Anwar Hossain, Sobuj Mia, and Tanjil Hossain.
Officials – M Mosharaf Hossain, (team manager), Abdul Jalil (coach) and M Anamul Haque (technical officer).
