A total of 1,750 kilograms high yielding jute seeds were distributed free of cost among one thousand small and marginal farmers of Gurudashpur upazila in the district on Tuesday.
President of District Awami League Professor Abdul Quddus, MP, distributed the seeds as the chief guest at a function at Gurudashpur upazila Parishad auditorium with Upazila Nirbahi Officer Yasmin Akter in the chair.
Jute Development Officer of the district Ajit Kumar Roy was present on the occasion.
Ajit Kumar Roy said, the seeds were distributed under the project of ‘high yielding jute and jute seeds production’ to expand jute production in the area.
