Textile and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi on Tuesday said that Bengal’s jute has returned to its golden glory. The minister was speaking at a fair and exhibition of multipurpose jute products at the Jute Diversification Promotion Center (JDPC) in the capital.
“The lost glory and tradition of jute has come back. The New and versatile products made of jute is constantly being discovered,” the minister said.
“Jute products are no more old and traditional…The old products have now moved to new heights with various new products,” he added. The minister said that the government is working to create early entrepreneurs, added the release.
“For this, more and more local fairs have been organized. Entrepreneurs need to be attracted through them… Arrangements are being made for fairs in vacant places of government mills in different parts of the country,” Dastagir added.
