Staff Reporter :
Judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court Justice Md Abdul Wahab Mia denied the claim of retired judge of the apex court Justice AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik. When the statement of Justice Manik came to the notice, Chief Justice SK Sinha drew the attention of Justice Wahhab Mia. He informed the Chief Justice that Justice Manik did not submit any written judgement or order to him (Justice Wahhab), says the press release of the SC issued on Sunday.
Justice Wahhab Mia is the presiding judge of the apex court bench where Justice Manik was a member.
Justice Manik in his letter and the press conference said, “My presiding judge refused to accept the judgements and orders written by me when he (Justice Wahhab) had been requested to accept those, saying that judgments and orders written by retired judges are not being accepted under the Chief Justice’s instruction.”
The press release says, the Chief Justice hopes that the former SC justice will submit the copies of his judgements and orders that he wrote after retiring from the job to the SC’s registrar general office as soon as possible instead of speaking to the media.
Justice Manik in the evening told an English daily that Justice Wahhab Mia has agreed to accept the judgements and orders from him and he will send these immediately.
While contacted, Acting Registrar General of the SC Abu Syed Dilzar Hossain said that Chief Justice SK Sinha has not said anything about the judgements written and signed by other judges after their retirement.
