Sylhet Bureau :
The students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) on Sunday formed a human chain demanding proper investigation and justice over unnatural death of their fellow student Mrittika Rahman.
The students formed the human chain in front of the central library on the campus at 11:30 am which also marched down different corners of the campus.
During the human-chain university Prof Faruk Uddin, said ‘Mrittika was a jolly girl. I believe someone can commit suicide but there has to be some reason behind this decision. We want to know those reasons and seek proper justice for her.’
The protesters also organised a public signing programme which will be sent to Panchagarh Deputy Commissioner along with a memorandum later through the university Vice Chancellor, they said.
Earlier on July 3, Mrittika, daughter of former Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) president of Panchagarh unit Advocate Shafiur Rahman, reportedly hanged herself at her in laws house at Boda upazila.
