A leader of Chhatra League’s Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) unit was arrested on Friday for snatching a mobile phone.
The arrestee, Golam Rabbani, 27, son of Ahmed Ali of Joypurhat sadar, is a masters student of nutrition and food technology department.
He is the organising secretary of Chhatra League’s Shaheed Moshiur Rahman Hall unit.
Sukumar Kundu, sub-inspector of Old Kosba Police Station, said Rabbani was caught while fleeing after snatching a mobile phone.
He was produced before the court in the afternoon, the OC added.
