An 18-member new executive committee of Jahangirnagar University Science Club (JUSC), a science-based social organisation, has been formed for the next one year. Jakirul Islam Jashim of Chemistry department and Md. Ariful Islam Arif of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering department of the university have been elected its President and General Secretary respectively.
Former President of the club and chief of the nomination committee Khandakar Oliullah Saad announced the new committee at the club’s annual general meeting on Tuesday night. The outgoing committee members handed over charges to the new committee in the programme.
The other office-bearers of the committee are- Vice President Sal Sabila Zerin and Hasib Al Noman, Joint Secretary Sadia Afroz Juhi and Nafiul Alam, Office Secretary Shakil Islam, Treasurer Zannatul Ferdous Sumaya, Head of Event Abu Bakkar Ali Sohag, Head of Promotion Sumaiya Alam Opshora, Head of Publication Shakil Hossain, Head of Scientific Research Tareq Mahmud, Head of Project Abdullah Al Mamun, Head of Human Resources Management Md. Rajon Ali, Head of IT Anik Roy, Head of Social Activities Md. Jahid Hasan, Head of Public Affairs Sayeda Suraiya Liya and Head of Research and Development Mahadi Hasan Tanzil.
Chief Advisor of JUSC Professor Dr. M. Shahedur Rahman addressed the function as chief guest as outgoing JUSC President Tarek Aziz was in the chair.
