93.06 pc in JSC and JDC; 98.51 pc in PEC, 95.85 in Ebtedayee pass exam results

A total of 93.06 per cent students passed this year’s Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations, and 98.51 per cent students cleared the Primary Education Completion (PEC) and 95.85 per cent in Ebtedayee examinations.
As many as 2,183,975 out of 2,346,959 students in the JSC and JDC, and 27,88,432 out of 28,30,734 students passed in the PEC examination while 2,46,818 out of 2,57,500 students cleared the Ebtedayee examinations.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman Fizar announced the results in separate press conferences in the secretariat on Thursday.
In the morning, the copies of the results were handed to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her official residence of Ganobhaban at 10:30am.
The Grade Point Average (GPA)-5 holders in JSC and JDC examinations are 2,47,588, which was 196,263 last year.
As many as 1,41,243 female students got GPA-5 while the number of GPA-5 holder male students is 1,06,345.
The female students did better than the male students in JSC, JDC, PEC and Ebtedayee examinations.
All the students in 9,450 education institutions passed their JSC and Junior Dakhil Certificate JDC examinations.
Of them, 1,129 education institutions run under the Dhaka Education Board, 1,517 institutions in Rajshahi, 348 in Comilla, 999 in Jessore, 192 in Chittagong, 919 in Barisal, 244 in Sylhet, 899 in Dinajpur board and 3,203 in Madrasha Board have achieved a 100 percent success rate.
Meanwhile, no student passed from 28 institutions. Of them 20 are madrashas and eight are schools.
Of the institutions, 20 institutions under the Madrasha Board, six under the Dinajpur Board and one each under the Dhaka and Rajshahi Boards did not have a single passing student. Last year students from 8,583 education institutions passed their JSC-JDC exams. All students from 43 institutions failed.
About 623 out of 626 overseas students passed in eight centres abroad. The number of JSC examinees is 2,035,543. Of them, 9,47,933 are males and 1,087,610 are females.
Some 378,472 examinees participated in the JDC examinations this year. Among the JDC students, 175,219 are males and 199,243 females.

As many as 29, 30,573 examinees took part in the PEC examinations this year. Of them, 13, 46,032 were boys and 15, 84,541 girls.
The number of examinees sat for the Ebtedayee examinations were 2,99,715. Of them, 1,57,319 were boys and 1,42,396 girls. A total of 281,898 students scored GPA 5 in the PEC examinations and 5,948 in the Ebtedayee examinations.
The PEC and its Madrasha equivalent Ebtedayee exams began on November 20 and ended on November 27 across the country.
Students will be able to get the results through text messages. A primary student will have to type ‘DPEUpazila coderoll number2016′ and send the message to 16222 to get the result in a return SMS.
Ebtedayee students will have to type ‘EBT’ in place of ‘DPE’.
The codes are available on the DPE (Directorate of Primary Education) website, and at the schools and local education department offices.
