JU correspondent: Jahangirnagar University journalists Association (JUJA) launched best reporting awards for its members in ‘daily event’ and ‘special news’ categories.
The awards were given at its office at the Teachers-Students Center of the university on Saturday noon.
Belal Hossain of Ajker Patrika and Arifuzzaman Uzzal of Daily Ittefaq received awards in ‘special news’ category while Faruk Hossain of Desh Rupantor and Mehedi Mamun of The New Nation received awards in ‘daily news’ Category.
On August last, the executive body of the organisation decided to honour its members for best reporting in two segments.
Meanwhile, the oldest campus based journalists’ association published its website today. Adviser of the organisation Professor Sheikh Tawhidul Islam and President of JUJA Alumni Association Syed Shahidul Haque Manju hit the inaugural click of the website.
Besides, Former JUJA adviser Professor Bashir Ahmed, Professor Sohel Ahmed, Professor Kamrul Hasan, Professor Nurul Islam, deputy management director of Walton group Humayun Kabir and JUJA President Mahbub Alam were present in the award giving and website publishing ceremony.
