Jahangirnagar University Journalists Association (JUJA) on Friday celebrated its 46th founding anniversary on the university campus amid festive mood.
Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Farzana Islam inaugurated the daylong programme by cutting cake at the “Swaptam Sayamancha” adjoining Teacher-Student Center (TSC) of the university at 11.30 am.
All the correspondents of different online and print media at the university should be more careful to present news and they should give more emphasize on its authenticity, said the VC.
She urged the campus journalists to highlight the developing works and researches to enhance the university’s reputation.
JU Pro-VC Prof Md Amir Hussain, Treasurer Prof Sheikh Md Monzurul Huq, Adviser of JUJA Prof Farid Ahmed, JUJA Alumni President Shahidul Haque Monzu and its General Secretary Kazi Jakir Hossain addressed the function as special guests.
Moreover, teachers of different departments, officials, leaders and activists of different political, cultural and social organisations were present at the inaugural session.
After the inaugural session, Prof Farzana Islam inaugurated a “Memorandum of Greetings” at JUJA office around 12 noon.
